The Impossible

WOW. So yes, it’s Hollywood and it’s dramatised and all of that, but WOW. And oh my goodness, the horror.

The biggest thing I remember about the 2004 tsunami tragedy, is that a very good friend of mine who works for the Red Cross got shot as she was travelling in Indonesia, doing relief work for the victims of that tsunami. This happened a couple of months after the actual tsunami, but watching the movie made me think about the phone call I got when it happened. But I digress.

There is so much hope in this film – happy ending, of course – but you can’t help but feel bad for all of those who didn’t get the happy ending. Displaced families, loved ones who were lost, homes and livelihoods destroyed…
